The Making of a Champion Course in Hesse

Kickoffs in all major cities of Hessen

The name The Making of a Champion actually says it all, since as  Vince Lombardi says — 'Leaders aren't born, they are made... '. Everyone can become a champion in his or her own right by not only mastering life's challenges, but by also becoming  one's own personal leader that knows how to grab life's opportunities, and avoiding all the looming pitfalls that hamper the potential waiting to hatch, a potential intrinsic to being human.

The thing is, what sets The Making of a Champion apart from all other competitors is, that it is:

  1. Measurable
  2. Sustainable, and
  3. Wholistic

In short, The Making of a Champion guarantees results, since the driving force is not the transfer of knowledge, in the first place or even per se, but the transfer of competence. It is all about implementing an action plan that is being guided by introspectively understood values, rounded off customs, attitudes, desires and ambitions. The blueprint is a contemplative, individualised and self-determined action plan.

Who is the target group?

All young people between the ages of 14-25, although at this kick-off everyone is welcome and especially young people supported by their guardians/parents/sponsors. Focused categories are:

  3. Jung colleagues in companies
  4. Unemployed young people
  5. Young migrants

Between workshops participants not only engage themselves with the material, but also work on their action plans that will be reflected on in the following workshop.

Since 2010, the LMI educational initiative "100 Champions for Your Region" has been running successfully in some of the federal states of Germany, and since last year in Hesse under the name of "100 Champions for Hesse". The goal is to support young people between the age of 14 and 25 years old in their personal development to become more self-confident, committed and value-oriented people. In our definition, champions are people who set desirable goals and are committed to achieving them. Companies, public institutions and other have made it possible for more than 500 young people to take part in the "Making of a Champion" course. In 2015 and 2016, Youth Globe and LMI DACH achieved impressive results with the initiative "2015 Champions for Germany, Austria and Switzerland". More than 1200 young people were given the essential support, through the Champions courses, to mould their professional and private lives. With the launch of "100 Champions" in January 2017, the focus was shifted towards the activities in separate regions, which will have an even greater impact. We are always delighted when we gain more support from companies, associations, governmental institutions and private individuals who also want to invest in long lasting results in the development of the upcoming generations. Two courses are now available in this initiative, the “Effective Personal Leadership" and the “Making of a Champion “ courses, which are optimally tweaked for 7 Target groups. These intensive programs and action plans run over approximately 6 to 10 months to make sure the results are on par.
